Mailing lists continue to demand the attention of SMEs

The attention of experts and specialized media seems to be almost entirely focused today on what mobile and social advertising can bring to companies, but SMEs are not abandoning email for this reason.

This tool, one of the first to appear in the digital world, continues to claim the full attention of smaller companies. According to new data from Constant Contact, 60% of SMEs are actively using it and continue to work on growing their mailing lists.

According to the study, nearly half of SMEs (44%) say they are focused on building and growing contact lists because it helps with business continuity and activity while 39% say email improves customer relationships.

How do they get new email addresses to add to their lists? Nearly a third (35%) use forms located at the point of sale, while 42% collect business cards.

“List growth, and the potential benefits that come with it, is account code list malaysia clearly on the minds of small business owners. They fully understand that engaging with customers is key to both maintaining current relationships and creating new ones, and one of the best ways to do that is through email marketing,” said Christopher M. Litster, SVP of Sales and Marketing at Constant Contact. “More than two-thirds of survey respondents said they train their employees to ask for customer contact information. As email remains central to SMB marketing, list growth is an initiative that business owners are making all employees own, from salespeople to cashiers to support staff.”

Other data from the study reinforce this idea. Thus:

66% of SMEs train their employees on how to request contact information (email) from customers;
92% of SMEs obtain new email addresses via online forms on their websites;
46% of SMEs also obtain email addresses through forms on Facebook.
