How to comply step by step with the new spam prevention requirements of Gmail and Yahoo

Post by pappu6327 »

1. Set up domain verification
One of the most well-known types of spam is spoofed email. A spoofed email is an email message that has been altered or forged to impersonate the sender.

In a spoofed email, the sender information, including the “From” address, is manipulated to make it look as if the email came from a different source than the real one . The intent of spoofing can vary, but it is often used for malicious or deceptive purposes, and “domain authentication” is an electronic certificate that indicates that the sender’s address is not spoofed.

If you send emails from another company's server, for example using an email delivery system, there may be a situation where the server that actually delivers the emails and the server of the sender's address domain are different.

The receiving server then determines whether the source address is authentic by consulting a digital certificate such as SPF or DKIM.

As a good email marketing practice, you should send from your bangladesh telegram phone numbers own domain, which will allow you to better control your sending reputation. In addition, your domain should be authenticated. We highly recommend that you set up this digital certificate, or “domain authentication.” Don’t have a private domain? There are cheap domain registration companies you can use, such as:

GoDaddy
Domain.com
Web.com
Note to Benchmark Email customers: We will no longer allow users to use a free domain, so please make sure to register your own domain and authenticate it.

For Benchmark Email Users
Go to the “Domain Authentication” page within “Account Settings” to perform the authentication process.

If you have already authenticated your private domain with Benchmark Email, you will need to add a DMARC record to fully comply with the new requirements. We will provide you with a new CNAME record to set up with your domain provider.
If you use a free email domain, such as @gmail.com or @yahoo.com, you can still send email on behalf of a domain verified by Benchmark Email. However, your sending domain will reside in a shared pool, giving you less control over your sending reputation and deliverability. Authenticating a private domain is highly recommended.
2. Make it easy to unsubscribe
For subscribers who wish to unsubscribe, you should enable a “one-click unsubscribe” option and the subscriber will no longer be part of your email marketing campaigns within two days .

This rule is limited in Gmail to “email subscribers who send more than 5,000 emails to Gmail accounts.” However, Yahoo! Mail does not restrict this.

For Benchmark Email Users
Benchmark Email has a fully supported unsubscribe system, and requires no special action.
One-click unsubscribe is included in our current email headers. Including a clearly visible unsubscribe link in the body of the email or footer is the responsibility of the sender.
3. Keep spam complaints below 0.3%
If email subscribers have a problem with a message they have received, they can file a complaint with Google or Yahoo and have the email blocked from that particular sender.

Some common reasons recipients file complaints are:

You have received an unwanted email.
They feel frustrated by receiving a newsletter with which they no longer interact.
They don't know how to unsubscribe, or they find it complicated.
Email senders must maintain a spam complaint rate of less than 0.3 % to be in line with these new policies. The best way to do this is to only send campaigns to recipients who have opted in to receive your campaigns or newsletters. As a best practice, clean up your subscriber list often by removing those who have not opened your emails in a long time. You can add these emails back later with a reactivation campaign. Along these lines, we must insist that you never use a purchased subscriber list. While it may be tempting to purchase a large list of email subscribers instead of developing your own subscriber list, a purchased list can cause irreparable damage to your sending reputation, which will cost you in the long run. Developing and maintaining a clean subscriber list of contacts who have engaged with your business is essential to the health of your email campaigns.
