Renesas Naka Factory to be able to supply

Post by ornesha »

[Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki Prefecture, March 10 (Reuters) - Renesas Electronics Corp. announced on March 10 that it expects to restore pre-earthquake supply levels at its main Naka factory, which was damaged in the Great East Japan Earthquake, by the end of September, one month earlier than originally planned, including through alternative production at other group factories and outsourced production to foundries.

The lines that will see the restoration of supplies are those using 200mm and 300mm diameter silicon wafers. The 200mm line that produces automotive microcontrollers and other components has already resumed production on the 1st of this month, and the 300mm line that produces system LSIs resumed production on the 6th.

On June 2nd, a motion of no confidence against the Kan Cabinet was remove background image rejected. Criticism arose from the disaster-stricken areas, asking, "Why are they fighting over something at this time?" However, I believe that the quickest way to rebuild Tohoku is for the Kan Cabinet to step down immediately. The reason for this huge difference in attitude between the disaster-stricken areas and Nagatacho is the grandstanding of Prime Minister Naoto Kan.

Despite gasoline being in the national stockpile, it is not reaching the disaster area. I have pointed out this issue in a previous article in this series as a lack of leadership on the part of Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Kaieda Banri, who was unable to arrange tank trucks, but in the end it was opposition LDP member of the House of Representatives Nikai Toshihiro who delivered the gasoline to the disaster area. Nikai quickly contacted industry groups and connected the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry with the disaster area. This has been testified to by multiple people involved.
