How safe are our manoeuvres on the internet? What promises to be reliable is not always so. The Diginotar affair has made that clear. Safety and privacy on the internet are two shoots on the same trunk. In order to preserve privacy, the big ones are (rightly) viewed with suspicion: Google and Facebook. The latter raises new questions about safety and privacy with Facebook Timeline and tracking cookies. But with the use of a few smaller applications, you also have no guarantee that things will go well. In short: shouldn't we gradually accept that our surfing behaviour is leaking and will continue to be leaking?
A few weeks ago I added Bufferapp as an extension to my Chrome browser. Bufferapp allows you france phone number list to easily schedule tweets. You spread messages over the day to increase the response. This is very useful because I often tweet at unusual times, such as late at night and on weekends. My Bufferapp account was requested in no time and after that it worked seamlessly.
There was a catch, though: Bufferapp has a red code in the Chrome web store . That means the extension has access to “all the data on your computer and the websites you visit.” That’s quite something.
