A few days ago, the tourism and marketing world was shaken by the spread of a hotel website that featured a layer (or floating window that appears over the page you want to view, generally used as an advertising tool) with a text that was at least disturbing . Today, 6 days after the initial impact, the website is not the same and the layer has been removed. But what did this layer contain that caused such a stir ?

One of the blogs that dealt with the subject is Juan female number data Sobejano ’s (don’t miss the comments); there you can see the full text, but among others, you can read: “… Any criticism published on the Internet about us is not accepted …”, and that the hotel “… reserves the right to legally establish the necessary complaints before the Courts…” “… against any company that illegally publishes any criticism of us on the Internet through alleged clients who say they have stayed at our establishment…”

As Tremendoviaje did , I checked on Tripadvisor, and out of 14 references that the hotel has, 6 rate it as terrible, and 2 as bad. That is to say that more than 50% of the references are negative, and that does not speak well of the hotel.

As I mentioned at the beginning of the post, the page has changed so perhaps they have become aware of the situation and are determined to reverse it… .

A similar case, but with positive and opposite results, was that of a hotel manager in Phoenix (USA) , who monitors the reviews his hotel receives on a daily basis, and thanks to them, has made up for certain deficiencies claimed, in order to improve the service . Online reputation management is one of the many tasks that a hotel manager must pay attention to, and even more so, prevent crises, and also act quickly and appropriately when they occur.

Do you think that hotels in Spain consider it positive that people write about them on tourist portals? As a guest, are you used to leaving your comments on them?
