Significant decline in featured snippets observed

Post by rumana777 »

There appears to be a significant decline in featured snippets in Google search results. "Featured snippets" are longer text snippets that are taken from websites and shown directly in the search results. This means that users often receive their answers directly on the search results page and no longer have to click on a website.

This has caused some discontent: while some people consider it a kind of "knighthood" when content from their websites is used as featured snippets, others complain about declining visitor numbers. This practice has rcs data turkey also sparked a discussion about the admissibility from a copyright perspective. The meta tag <meta name="googlebot" content="nosnippet"> can be used to prevent your own pages from being used as featured snippets. But what is the use if a competing website is awarded the contract instead and neither this website nor your own receives traffic?

Apparently, featured snippets have been displayed much less frequently since February 18th. This is reported by the portal Search Engine Land in an article . According to this, a clear decline in featured snippets can be seen in various SEO tools. There was already a decline on February 13th. Whether this is a short-term glitch or whether a trend reversal is emerging will become clear in the coming weeks. In any case, many website operators should be happy because they can now expect increasing visitor numbers again.
