During bathing procedures, water flows directly onto the floor (unless we are talking about taking a shower in a specially equipped shower cabin). Therefore, this floor must either let water pass below, into the water collector, or be waterproof and arranged with a slope towards the water collector. The first type of construction is implemented when installing wooden floors with intentionally left cracks or a wooden lattice.
flows down into the basement or through the plank floor onto the ground, gradually evaporating. The boards dry out and become ready for new use.
However, such a floor still takes a long time to dry (especially with a small gap between the flooring and the base), so it is better to install a two-layer wooden flooring, as shown in the figure below.
In this version, a rough flooring is first installed with gaps between the boards of 20...50 mm, then the joists are laid so as to provide drainage to the drain hole, after that - another layer of boards with smaller (10...15 mm) gaps. Of course, the boards of the finished floor are laid so that the gaps between them do not luxembourg mobile database with the cracks in the lower layer. But this option is acceptable mainly for a "summer" bathhouse, when drafts and cold from below are not critical for the temperature in the steam room and washroom.
Another, relatively budget-friendly option for a “cold” floor is to install joists on asbestos or other pipes.
In this case, the pipes are laid on a cushion compacted with crushed stone and sand, and the joists are placed directly on the pipes. In this case, the leaking floor is better ventilated, and the water goes into the ground through a layer of crushed stone and sand, thus being cleaned. In addition, the compacted cushion does not allow the wet soil to spread so quickly.
Interesting: if there is no desire or opportunity to arrange a cushion over the entire area of the underground, you can make a thinner layer and make a trench with greater depth in the place of the most active drainage.
Warm floor in a bathhouse with a drain
All the options of "leaking" floors, especially those laid on the ground, are quite cold. For a bathhouse used all year round, it is more rational to install a concrete screed with a drain pipe (pipes). The floor is also made with cracks, but underneath it a concrete fill is installed with a slope towards the place where water is collected.
Water, penetrating into the cracks,
