Once a year, the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) creates one of the largest platforms in Germany to talk about trends, ideas and developments that can be easily and quickly implemented to increase information security - in 2024 even in the form of an anniversary: the 20th German IT Security Congress.
"The ever-increasing number of submitted presentations and registrations for the BSI Congress show the massively increased importance of the topic of cyber security. From ransomware attacks to new technologies such as AI to secure digitization: IT security now regularly receives a lot of attention in the media, politics and companies . But it also shows that we have succeeded in establishing the BSI Congress as a format. It is a permanent contact point for experts from Germany and beyond to exchange ideas on current developments in the field of cyber security," says BSI President Claudia Plattner.
Last year, 28 speakers from over 170 submitted stockholder database presentations were able to win one of the coveted live slots. The speakers shared their own experiences from projects, some of which were carried out exclusively for the BSI Congress, on topics such as cyber security in SMEs and in dialogue with society, threat intelligence, digital signatures and authentication, as well as cryptography, cyber resilience and secure IT infrastructures.
This year, the BSI is again looking for companies, authorities, research institutions and students who can enrich the BSI Congress with practical contributions. Presentation ideas can be submitted to the BSI by October 2nd, along with an outline and summary, at [email protected]. A program advisory board will review and evaluate the contributions anonymously and select the best submissions for the Congress. The conditions of participation, subject areas and further information are listed in the PDF Call for Papers.
The 20th German IT Security Congress will once again take place in digital form on May 7 and 8, 2024. Current cybersecurity topics will be discussed interactively during the two virtual congress days. Participants can virtually take part in the live lectures, visit exhibition stands and exchange ideas on current trends and perspectives in IT security.
