A Minute of Theory: About Targeting in Facebook Ads
Let me remind you that targeting allows you to select the audience to which you are going to show ads. Or, conversely, to exclude people to whom you do not want to show ads.
Detailed targeting is available in the Audience section when creating an ad group:
You can refine your audience by demographic interests, interests, and behavior. To start working with detailed targeting, click Edit → View:
How to use detailed targeting: examples1. Targeting by educational institutions
"Demographic interests" → "Education" → "Educational institutions".
Here you can show ads to students at specific educational institutions. It will be useful for those who make souvenirs, clothes, etc. with the symbols of a specific university. Or, say, for cafe owners who are located nearby.
2. Targeting final year students
"Demographic Interests" → "Education" → "Final Years".
Very relevant if you work in the entertainment industry, you can show ads to those who are about to graduate

3. Target people who have recently started dating
"Demographic interests" → "Life events" → "In a new relationship".
As Charles-Joseph de Ligne said, "In love, fusion database the most beautiful thing is the beginning." This is a great time to advertise gifts, surprises (rooftop dates, for example), flowers, and romantic trips to your audience.
4. Targeting lovers who are far apart
"Demographic Interests" → "Life Events" → "In Long Distance Relationships".
Let's imagine that you are an airline, and you currently have good discounts on flights within Russia. It's high time to launch an ad and say that you can "fly away for the weekend to your loved one for only N thousand rubles."
