Get your tracking ID
Create a Zap in Zapier
Add webhook to PayPal
Adding a custom filter to Zap
Configuring the Zap to send data
Enabling e-commerce reports in Google Analytics
Configure Google Tag Manager
Complete a test transaction
Go Live
These 9 steps are the way to connect a PayPal account to Google Analytics. The big news is that when using Google Tag Manager, you only need to modify the PayPal button code on your website.

Step 1: Get your tracking ID
Ideally, you should first create a test environment in Google Analytics. This allows you to set up and test everything, ensuring everything is working, before the installed solution goes live and the results are incorporated into the Google Analytics report.

This must be done:

In Google Analytics, go to “Administration” in the admin area.
In the first column “Account,” click on the top dropdown list under the term Account.
Now select “Create new account” and
Name the new account and website (for example, Test), enter www.Example.com as the URL (this does not affect the data collected and is for testing purposes only), select the other settings and finally click on "Get Tracking ID".
At the end you get the tracking code for the test scenario.
It's a good idea to create a single HTML page for testing the PayPal tracking solution. We also recommend using the PayPal sandbox to test transactions. This allows you to test and complete transactions without actually making payments.
Additionally, a Zapier account is required as a premium subscription. These start at $20 per month, but you can also test everything for free for 14 days to see if everything works as expected. Sure, it's another paid subscription, but Zapier is truly amazing and offers much more than what's covered here—most importantly, if used correctly, it saves a tremendous amount of time.

Step 2: Create a “Zap” in Zapier
1. First you get a new “Zap” for PayPal for a successful sale.

2. In the next step, you will receive a webhook URL to configure the PayPal IPN.

3. The next step is to enter the PayPal sandbox to configure the IPN Simulator. First, log in to bulgaria phone number data the PayPal account you want to use. Once the configuration is complete, the test details will be sent to Zapier.

4. The webhook URL from step 2 must be converted into the IPN Handler URL, select “Express Checkout” as the transaction type and click “Send IPN” at the bottom of the page.

That’s it for now with the configuration of the “Zap”.

Step 3: Add the webhook to PayPal
The next step is to get the PayPal account to send details to the Zapier webhook. There are two ways to do this. First, you can add this webhook to the desired PayPal account. This means that from this point on, all successful transaction details will be forwarded to Zapier.

However, this requires a PayPal business account. Under "Sales Tools," look for the option for instant payment notifications. It's not that easy to find in the sandbox.
