The blogs of Texterra, HubSpot and MOZ do not have a sidebar. Mad Cats, Cossa and Webpromoexperts have a sidebar on the right. Lenta.ru and Nielsen have a full-fledged sidebar on the left. There are examples of sites and blogs with two or more sidebars. Are sidebars even necessary? What functions do they perform, how to use them effectively, what should an ideal sidebar be like?
