15 minutes of world fame

Post by asimj1 »

Two weeks ago, media journalist Christof Moser denounced those journalists who switch to the PR business as "traitors". If this criterion is used as a yardstick, then Walter de Gregorio is the "traitor in chief". He became FIFA's head of communications.

In his previous life, de Gregorio wrote in-depth pakistan rcs data reports about sport and Italy for Weltwoche and Blick. In this way, he demonstrated how decadent Silvio Berlusconi really was. In retrospect, however, this was just a child's birthday party compared to the alleged FIFA machinations.

Nevertheless, de Gregorio remains the only "winner" in the current mega-crime. Alone on stage, in direct eye contact with the moralizing world press, he defended his employer after the arrest of the seven FIFA officials. What's more, he turned the tables, made FIFA the victim and welcomed the actions of the police and the Federal Prosecutor's Office. In doing so, he took advantage of a tiny opportunity that he actually didn't have.

To put it a little exaggeratedly: De Gregorio's performance is comparable to Beatrice Tschanz's bravura performance after the Halifax crash. The only difference is that Ms. Tschanz had significantly more sympathy seventeen years ago and - as macabre as it may sound - a clearer set of facts.
