Opportunity for the catering industry

Nice for users
Foodspotting has a concept that fits in well with what many people like and enjoy doing: good food. The service does not allow for negative reviews, based on the idea that even a mediocre restaurant can have a great dish on the menu. So you can only recommend tasty things.

The nice thing is that the app is not only fun for people who like to photograph and upload their own food, but it also offers something for the more passive user. The Foodspotting app functions as a visual restaurant guide. When you start the app, it immediately shows photos of dishes from the area thanks to GPS. A simple and fun way to get in the mood for a nice meal.

This of course offers opportunities for restaurants and cafes. Precisely because there are still relatively belgium phone number list few photos online in the Netherlands, it is easy for a restaurant to be distinctively present. As a restaurant, you can stimulate this with a brochure on the table or an inlay in the menu with which you explain the concept. Add a QR code and then the guests can install the app while waiting for their meal and then place their first 'spot'. Foodspotting offers widgets with which the restaurant (or the user) can show the photos on its own site.

Is Foodspotting here to stay?
Yes, I think so. It is a niche social media service, but with a fairly solid and active community worldwide. The connection with Foursquare has recently been greatly improved, allowing you to check in with a single checkmark, including a photo. The Facebook connection is still limited to placing the photo. It would be nice if there was also a check-in attached to it, allowing you to put the restaurant on your own Facebook map. These connections strengthen the application and make Foodspotting even more fun. As far as I'm concerned, there could be more Dutch users!
