When it comes to defining the type of software that can help a particular company the most, it is normal to find yourself faced with a multitude of acronyms that you don't quite know how to approach. This is the case of CRM, CDP and DMP , three systems that, while they have in common that they work with customer data, also have different applications and, therefore, are more or less recommendable depending on the intended use.

That is why we are going to take a closer look at what exactly these digital tools are , truemoney database what they are used for and, in passing, which one is best suited to which companies.

CDP vs DMP vs CRM: all the differences
There are many computer programs applied to marketing in the company that can make our work easier and help us sell more , but before embarking on the adventure of integrating them into the day-to-day running of the company, it is important to know exactly what they do and how we can get the most out of them.

CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management . This tool allows you to gather all the data you have about your customers in one place and, without having to leave that place, contact them through a multitude of channels . A CRM is used both to get new customers and to retain existing ones.
DMP stands for Data Management Platform . In this case, this tool allows us to collect global data from people who interact with the company to create action segments. Thanks to this, we can narrow down who to target in order to have more chances of converting.
As for the CDP , which refers to Customer Data Platform , it is somewhat similar to the DMP, except that in this case the information available can be grouped and linked to each client, not with a global vision. In this way, the CDP allows us to develop much more individualized marketing campaigns , with higher success rates.
CRM , DMP and CDP are all perfectly complementary tools, although they can be used at very different times depending on the stage each company is at.

Ultimately, all three are software programs that are part of what has come to be called Creative Intelligence & Customer Experience , the objective of which is to sell more and better.

CRM, CDP or DMP: Which is the best option for your business?
To be clear, we can say that both the DMP and the CDP are aimed at advertising , making a brand or product known and collecting data from potential interested parties to generate leads that can be converted into sales . They attack this objective in different ways, but in the end the objective is the same: to obtain data that is as reliable as possible that can serve the company in its sales objective.

As for CRM, we can say that it is a type of tool with a longer lifespan , since it integrates all this data and allows direct contact with customers , organizing all the information, allowing the launching of personalized campaigns and, ultimately, keeping the company alive in the minds of potential buyers .
