Banking customers are one of the main targets of cybercriminals. That is why our priority is to ensure security in all operations. Thanks to technological advances and our daily efforts, we manage to combat cybercrime.



Phishing, or identity theft for the purpose of data theft, and smishing, when fraudulent communication is made via SMS, are two of the most common cybercrimes. Since no one is safe from being a victim of this type of crime, it is essential to take extreme precautions.



Double authentication

One of the latest measures we have implemented in all entities of the Caja Rural Group to ensure the security of our clients has been double authentication. Double authentication factor is another step in controlling access to systems and applications. A username and password are no longer enough; an additional level of security is required.

And this is because even if they manage to decipher our passwords, in order to access our data, they will need that second layer of security.



If you are a Caja Rural Group customer, you will have had to enter this two-factor authentication when carrying out operations such as transfers, paying bills or making purchases in stores. Also, to make balance enquiries and view the movements of your account. In addition, in compliance with the European PSD2 regulations , all our customers will have to apply this double authentication when they log in to ruralvía ​​every 90 days.



As we have already mentioned, this regulation, with the aim of strengthening protection mechanisms, requires that for most electronic payments, double or triple factor authentication is required. Users, in order to carry out a transaction, will have to enter two of three possible proofs: something they have (such as a credit card), something they know (such as a PIN) and something non-transferable (such as a fingerprint or iris scan).

In the coming months, all of the Group's entities will offer their clients the possibility of adding accounts from other entities to ruralvía. Thanks to this new service, if you have accounts in different banks, you will be able to optimize the management of your personal finances by having them all in the same application.
