Artificial intelligence is becoming the focus of smart factories. Whether robots that perform tasks independently and pass on their knowledge to other machines, or AI systems that guide technicians during repairs: 12 percent of German industrial companies are already using artificial intelligence in the context of Industry 4.0.

This is the result of a representative survey of German industry commissioned by the digital association Bitkom. 555 industrial companies with 100 or more employees were surveyed in the run-up to the Hannover Messe.

" Artificial intelligence is conquering factories at a rapid pace and is the basis for continuous improvements in manufacturing. AI has the potential to revolutionize industry," says Bitkom President Achim Berg. Thanks to machine learning, data cambodia gambling data from different sources can be linked, errors can be predicted and problems can be solved. "With the AI industry and the manufacturing industry, two strong players are coming together in Germany to jointly conquer the top worldwide."

Artificial intelligence brings diverse benefits to Industry 4.0
Every second company (49 percent) expects that machine learning in the context of Industry 4.0 will fundamentally change existing business models. Companies expect a variety of advantages from the use of AI in the smart factory.

For every second company, this includes increasing productivity (47 percent), predictive maintenance, i.e. improving error detection and thereby reducing machine downtime (39 percent), and process optimization in production and manufacturing (33 percent). Every fourth company (25 percent) also believes that AI in the factory can improve product quality.

One in five companies expects better scalability (20 percent) and lower costs, for example for personnel, maintenance, inspection and development (19 percent).
