At least some text should be in the upper area

Post by rumana777 »

Google attaches great importance to having at least some content visible "above the fold" on a page. The term "above the fold" refers to the content that visitors to a page see without having to scroll. It doesn't have to be a lot of text, but a small part of it makes a decisive difference. John Müller from Google recently pointed this out in one of his Hangouts , a video session in which interested parties can ask him questions about the search engine.

He explained this using the example of a hotel website. If a wedding photo fills the top of the page, but the actual text content comes further down, that's not good. At least a small part of the text should be visible rcs data france above the photo. It's important to know that Google now renders websites through the "eyes" of an imaginary smartphone user ("mobile-first"). The average size of current smartphones is used as a basis. This means that there is less space available for content "above the fold" than was the case a few years ago. How much text Google wants to see "above the fold" was not specified. In our experience, however, it should be the main headline and one or two sentences.

Also, put yourself in the shoes of your visitors. They are happy when they have clues as to what the respective page is about. Knowing that you are on the right page also satisfies the human need for control, which the visitors to your pages will use to your advantage. It is not pleasant when you land on a page and have to scroll down to see the actual content.
